A Warm Welcome to the Ringhotel Zum Roten Bären in the Upper town - the pleasant area between the Schwabentor and the famous Münster. The 250-year-old lime tree, the fountain and in front of the Schwabentor the hotel Zum Roten Bären since 1120 and therefore the oldest inn in Germany. Hospitality is a matter of course for us - you will feel it everywhere!

Rooms
All of the 25 rooms each have their own unique character whether it be the room with the decorative wall hanging or the room with the granit shower in the centre of the room. There are lots of interesting things to discover. Facilities and services for all rooms are including. Shower or bathtub / WC, television, radio, telephone, internet access, mini bar (not in all rooms), entry to the hotel sauna, bathrobe and slippers on request. In case of allergy blankets or pillows without quills. On request wake up call via reception.

One of the truly scenic areas of Europe can be reached easily from Freiburg, the Gateway City of Southern Germany. Fine highways, plus excellent coach and train service, link the city with the nearby Black Forest, historic castles, Constance and the Bodensee, Switzerland, France and Austria. Freiburg has much to offer itself, including historic sites, fine shopping and lovely scenery, but it also has a wealth of nearby attractions. The Rhine River forms a natural boundary for the state from the point where the fabled stream leaves Lake Constance to just north of Mannheim. Swizerland, France and Austria lie just across the state´s borders.

From our hotel it takes only a few steps to the lively cultural scene, to international congresses, to the Münster Market and the University Quater. Freiburg´s surrounding area is awaiting you: the hilly landscape with its vineyards and woods invites you for biking and hiking, golf and skiing and to discover the secret of the local gastronomic culture!
