With the placing of the foundation stone on the area formerly occupied by the Bavaria brewery the development of the newest hotel project of the Fraatz / Bartels family – owner and operator of the Hotel Hafen Hamburg – started. The private hoteliers invested an approximate 65 Mio. € in the spectacular new hotel project in the heart of trendy St. Pauli, which has open its doors to guests travelling on leisure or business alike in November 2007. The exclusive new hotel is part of the development of the area of the former Bavaria brewery. Apart from the hotel and the “Brauhaus” (an independent commercial and office complex) until the end of 2008 a completely new quarter named “Hafenkrone” (harbour crown)will be constructed in this unique position between the Reeperbahn and the St. Pauli landing stages on the river Elbe.

Rooms
The 328 air-conditioned guestrooms have black-and-white decor with contemporary furniture and floor-to-ceiling windows providing views of the harbour, river or surrounding city. All have satellite television, direct-dial telephones, Internet connections, safes and minibars. En-suite bathrooms are ceramic tiled and have hair dryers and handheld showers.
