The Hotel Alte Post is estimated to be the oldest guest house in the center of our village (since 1612). The Hotel Alte Post was already visited by traiders at the beginning of the 17th century. An evidence for this are the antique arms at the wooden ceiling in the historic part of the restaurant. In the year 1864 Sebastian Hois bought the building and renamed it to "Alte Post". Since 1896 the "Alte Post" is owned by the Preisinger family. Already in the centuries which have passed by the historic Hotel, was a popular place to rest for all travellers. Please enjoy the typical bavarian hospitality.

Rooms
Our guest rooms, in which you will enjoy your stay, are comfortable and offer you all the comfort, you will expect.
All 60 rooms, from the single room up to the hotel appartment with refrigerator and seperate living and sleeping areas are equiped with direct dial telephone, satelite tv (for example CNN) and hair dryer. For all of our guests we offer a car park which is free of charge.

Wellness and leisure
The region around Oberammergau offers wonderful possibilities for hiking.May it be flat tracks in the valley or mountain tours - Oberammergau offers the hiker a rich selection of possibilities. And if you like accompanied hiking, we offer at least two guided hiking tours a week.
