Art Fabrik und Hotel.
You can have 5-star-comfort for 1-star-prices. We have got standard single, double and three-bed rooms. For small extra money you can get superior rooms or our famous artists-chambers as well as rooms with own sauna and bath tub in the middle of the room! The historical pregnant, monument protected building once was the factory of Friedrich Engels. From here world communism was sponsored. This is now our Art-Fabrik-Hotel (ger.Fabrik=factory), in former times Karl Marx got his money from here, while writing his communist manifest. A creative idea merged art and charity with special commitment for children hospices. A few years ago the donation founders Roswitha and Erich Bethe developed this unusual concept of the Art-Fabrik-Hotel.

Rooms
We can offer you 140 rooms, which are generously cut and comfortably furnished. You´ll be satisfied, what you get for your money. 16 rooms with own sauna and 30 artist-chambers, each one of them created by famous artists. As far as we know, that`s quiet unique in Europe. Some rooms have an own PC. Free W-LAN is available.

Wellness and leisure
Enjoy perfect relaxation in our wellness area. In harmony of color and light you experience the four elements water, earth, fire, air. Cosmetic applications and massages of all kinds as well as the attraction of a Persian Hamam expect you!

Location
You shouldn`t miss the famous suspension railway, even more known since Tuffi, the elephant, jumped out. He is doing well. We although recommend you the Heydt-museum, the zoo and the adventure bath Bergische Sonne as well as a climbing centre 300 m away from the hotel.
